
AL-SERAT
It is a collection of papers presented in the International Conference on Imam Hussain (AS) in July 1984 in London. The conference marks the birth anniversary of Imam Hussain in 1,400 Hijri. It highlights the life of Imam Hussain as depicted in Muslim literature, the concept of martyrdom in Islam, and gives an account of martyrdom. Papers are also presented on Shia mourning rituals and the social and spiritual significance of Marthiya. Imam Hussain is looked upon as an ideal by all who believe in righteous causes. Imam Hussain shows that even the death of the dearest ones cannot deter him from performing the task of protecting the Islam and Ummah.
