Bab al hadi ashar
Allama Ḥelli was a Twelver Shia theologian and mujtahid. He was one of the well known Shia scholars of his time. His full name is Jamāl ad-Dīn Abu Manṣūr al-Ḥasan bin Yūsuf ibn al-Muṭahhar al-Ḥillī. We know of at least one hundred books written by him, some of which are still in the form of manuscripts. This book "al bab al hadi ashar" ( A treatise on the principles of Shi'ite theology) is a summary of al-Shaykh al-Tusi's “Misbah al-Mutahajjid”, a book of supplications and rituals. 'Allamah al-Hilli completed his summary in ten chapters, but added an eleventh chapter to discuss the doctrinal beliefs of Islam. He felt he should add this chapter since the validity of acts of worship is dependent on the correctness of one's belief, and the pleasure of worship comes only after knowing God.
