What is Shi’at, what is its history, what are its basic beliefs, what is mourning (Azadari), what is its history and what are the effects of Shi’at on Baloch society? These are the questions the author of this book explains with particular focus on the history of Shi’at among Baloch people living in Balochistan and the highly respected people the region has produced. According to historians and historical evidence about the Baloch people settled in Balochistan, Sindh and Punjab, they become Muslims in the early period of Islam and after Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) death, they accept Hazrat Ali (AS) as the Khalifa. For being the supporters of Imam Hussain (AS), they are forced to migrate continuously from one place to other and live the life of nomads. Despite all this, they remain steadfast in their beliefs.
