Gul-e-ra'na
Ghalib named his first inthikhaab as Gul-e-ra'na because it presented a selection of his Urdu and Persian poetry in equal measure. The preface of this book is written in Ghalib's own formal but flamboyant Persian prose, and has a passionate tone.This book was written in Ghalib's own manuscript. The number of Urdu and Persian verses both is 455 .Gul-e-ra'na is an invaluable text ,because it helps us understand Ghalib's logic in his selection process. While Ghalib was extremely sensitive to criticism, he set exacting standards for himself too and kept editing his work.This book is compiled by Syed Wazir ul Hassan Abidi.
