The author of this book is Dr Abdul Qayyum.He has compiled a detailed book about the art of prose writing, where in the first chapter, he has given a a brief account about the origin of Urdu prose, its significance in the eighteenth and nineteenth century and its role in latest Urdu literature.In the second chapter he has discussed about the early prose writers and their work. In the third chapter he has discussed about the art of biography writing, its salient features and the critical review about Hayaat-e-Saadi, Yadgaar-e-Ghalib and Hayat-e-Javed. In the fourth chapter he has discussed about Moulana Haali,his work ,Shibli and few other famous biographers . In the era of critical review in Urdu literature's history. In the sixth chapter letter writing is focussed and in the seventh chapter he has compared Haalis work with other prose writers.
