Imam Razi Ilm Ul Akhlaq
In this book Imam fakhr al din al razi kitab al nafs wa al ruh has survived in so far only known manuscript of the Bodleian library Oxford. The text was published by the Islamic research institute last year or originally it was planned that the text would form part of the volume comprising the English translation and notes due to some unavoidable circumstances. It was however decided by the former director of the institute to bring out the Arabic text which was already printed at Karachi in a separate volume. An appendix containing the list of the works of imam razi indices of the Qur’anic verses and saying of the prophet together with the contents of the book were however added to the same. The English version of the book entitled imam razi ilm al akhlaq is now in the hand of the readers. It supplies additional evidence of the fact that imam razi was inter alia conversant with the school of Greek philosophy. It also adds a great deal to our knowledge of the development of ethics in the sixth/twelfth century especially after the monumental work of ibn miskawaih tahdhib Al akhlaq and the valuable contributions made by imam Raghib of Isfahan and Abu al barkat of Baghdad.
