He says that prayer is not only the desire for the needs of the present life, but the elevated prayer in life, the desire for higher needs, and for a thirsty and loving soul, prayer is eternity. The direction of ascension is the flight towards the summit which is connected with eternity and the rising towards the center which is the distance from everything.
