Nafasul Mahmoom
Nafasul Mahmoom (literally “The Sigh of the Grieved”) is a classical maqtal (account of the tragedy of Karbala) written by the eminent Shia traditionist Sheikh ‘Abbas Qummi (d. 1359 AH / 1940 AD). It narrates the life and martyrdom of Imam Husayn (AS)—beginning from his birth and virtues, continuing through the events leading up to Karbala, the battle and martyrdom of Imam Husayn and his companions, and the aftermath including the captivity of the household and the uprising of Mukhtar.
