Punjabi adab
Mohan Singh Oberoi Deewana was born in 1899 at Rawalpindi. He got his degrees of M. A. from Punjab University and of D. Litt. from Calcutta University on his thesis on new trends in modern Urdu poetry. Later, he also got another degree from Punjab University, he then migrated to Pakistan after the Partition of India and wrote a detailed history of Punjabi literature which is still considered as an asset in Punjabi literature. Deewana wrote his poetry in both the languages—Urdu and Punjabi.
