Syed Roshan Ali Zaidi Al-Wasti belonged to the district of Muzaffar Nagar in the northern subcontinent. The author has written this book upon the insistence of Sir Henry Elliot about the background, way of living, linage and decendents of the caste and races of the residents of Muzaffar Nagar District. Most of the people living here were Twelver Shias.In this book the author has descriptively elaborated about the minor and major details about the inhabitants of Southern subcontinent.They were commonly known as "Baharas" or al-Wasti Syeds.The book contains basic geographical, traditional and historical information about them.A copy of this book is still present in the India office library, London.
