In his speeches on the reality of events of the 17th of Shahrivar, Imam Khomeini tells Iranian people that they are awakened now and no power can confront them and sooner or later victory will come to them. “This is the way of Ali, the Commander of the Faithful, and the chant of martyred Imam Hussain (AS),” he says. Calling the army of Iran patriotic, he asks army men to join the people in the fight against the evil regime of Shah. He calls on the scholars, who are the symbol of faith and spiritual strength for the people, to strengthen the spirit of resistance in society.
